1. Be authentic
To grow your career and the become servant leader who shapes the future of the organisation, practice authenticity. Authenticity propels transparency, honesty, and kindness which any workplace needs. Be you. Don't pretend to be someone you are not. If you are not a bulldog, don't be one. Authenticity is the vehicle for sustainable personal success. And a catalyst for building strong relations.
2. Build relations
The macroeconomic situation affects most people on this planet. What they worry about the most is money. For you to have more success as a leader, help your team members focus their attention on what matters. Tell them how great they are. Your team members need you. Every human being want to be seen and heard. Only few leaders practice this. If you connect with people from your heart space, your team members who follow you.
3. Grow Your Conscious awareness
Most organisations subconsciously grow toxic workplaces. Leaders across industries and organisations are unaware of the essential leadership ingredients required to lead effortlessly. Growing your conscious awareness will enable you to control what you think and adapt to the moment. This practice will take you from good to great and will open opportunities you have never before dreamed of.
4. Own the corporate WHY
There is a need for leaders to step up and own the WHY. The corporate WHY as well as the personal WHY (see more in section 5). What is it your organisation really wants? Not the What. Not the how. But the WHY. If you nail this, you will become the leader everyone wants to follow let alone break free from the crowd of leaders you have followed for years.
5. Your personal vision statement
Why do you want to be a leader? What are you passionate about? How do you want your next decade to unfold? Most of my clients come to me knowing that they want to get more out of life. But they can't tell what needs to shift. And they know that the way forward to to collaborate on this important question. The personal WHY.
Don't just focus on getting your organisation's vision statement for 2030 right. Put equal effort into your own vision statement. Create your destiny. Create your future. Everything is possible.
